Abstract: Blessed Virgin Mary’s fiat comes from a deep faith in God. It is a total surrender to God’s will: “I am the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me according to your word” (Luke 1: 38). It is not a simple “yes”, but one that comes with the responsibility of accepting the will of God in her life without reservations. Accepting to model one’s life after Mary involves accepting to totally surrender to the will of God in one’s life, no matter the situation. It is a spirituality that leads to imitating the virtues of Mary. It invites people to use even devotion to her to become inspired to imitate her virtues. By this, one can live a spirituality that is Marian in nature. This is because, true Marian devotion draws from and leads to an expression of faith in God; a faith that also recognizes the maternal affiliation and support of Mary for her children. So, devotion to her is part of the larger reality of following the model of Mary’s fiat, as it leads to a greater intensity in Marian spirituality. Thus, Mary’s fiat connects various aspects of Christian life in the journey to perfection. It enhances journey to holiness, helps in developing new and distinct focus in Christian living. It likewise enhances an appreciation of the nature of the Christian call and how modelling one’s life after the fiat of the Blessed Virgin Mary makes the journey of spiritual life less cumbersome. This article argues that Mary’s fiat is a model for developing a spirituality that unites one with God as the ultimate reality the soul desires.

Abstract: The concept of jinn has existed for centuries in various religious and cultural traditions, particularly in Islamic belief. Despite their metaphysical nature, modern scientific advancements—especially in quantum physics—open new possibilities for understanding and interpreting these beings. This paper explores the relationship between quantum mechanics and the existence of jinn. It delves into the parallels between quantum phenomena and metaphysical concepts, investigating whether quantum theory can provide a scientific basis for the existence of jinn. The study also highlights the possible dimensions in which jinn might exist, focusing on quantum fields, parallel universes, and energy-based forms of existence. This multidisciplinary approach bridges ancient metaphysical beliefs with contemporary scientific understanding. By analyzing the probabilistic nature of quantum events, the paper questions the rigidity of materialist interpretations of reality. It draws attention to quantum superposition and non-locality as possible frameworks for understanding the unseen interactions attributed to jinn. The observer effect in quantum physics is discussed in relation to the conscious experience of metaphysical encounters. Furthermore, the study considers whether jinn could exist in higher-dimensional spaces proposed by string theory and M-theory. The role of energy, vibration, and frequency—core elements in both spiritual traditions and quantum theory—is also explored. This investigation does not claim empirical verification but rather proposes a theoretical alignment that invites further exploration. Ultimately, the paper seeks to stimulate dialogue between science and spirituality, encouraging a broader ontological perspective.

Abstract: Globalization which seems to be the imposition of western cultural ideologies on the rest of the world, often generates cultural mutations which militate against the latter’s educational and socio-political philosophies. Liberalism and capitalism, carry in themselves built-in systems of thought that are, for instance, destructive to the very essence of African cultural life. Educational and governance principles which determine the global space drum the merits of euro-centric values, while provincializing the rest, Africa inclusive. This paper is a call for collective responsibility towards the epistemic decolonization of educational and governance philosophies in Africa. It focuses on two axes: Firstly, on globalization and its hidden agendas. Here, I argue that the philosophy which engenders the ideology of globalization, especially the goal on Education trivializes non-western approaches to knowledge construction, and at the same time undermining the essence of indigenous languages of instructions. Secondly, I argue that the identity crisis suffered by the subset; African knowledge systems, within the whole; Western politics of millennium development goals need redress. This is because by its very nature, globalizing western approaches to knowledge and education endangers indigenous knowledge systems with all its virtues. Redressing begins with delinking and relinking of knowledge and proceeds to the restoration of Afro-centric approaches to education and governance founded on African indigenous traditional values such as Ubuntu and Ujama’a. African socio-political philosophy will gain its proper place in the global space when the socio-political actors build their ideologies and political philosophies on knowledge of indigenous cultural constructs of governance which have animated the African space and gained reputation over the ages.
